Bill Haas won the Northern Trust Open golf tournament when he made a 45-foot putt across the 10th green at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles. He had a three-way playoff with Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley who both made a birdie on the final hole.

Mickelson and Bradley went into the final round both one shot behind on the 18th hole. Mickelson made a birdie putt just outside 25 feet and Bradley outside 12 feet that set off an outburst of cheer.

They started the playoff at the 18th. Then after two holes, on the 10th hole, Haas landed just under 45 feet across the green.

"If I hit 30 putts, I maybe make five of them," Haas said. "But it just so happens it did right there. I hit it just like I wanted. I hit the line. There was a ball mark about 10 feet in front of me. I was trying to go just around that, and I did that.

"I'm not giving it all to luck," he said. "I felt like I hit a nice putt. But from that length, anything can happen."

On the second extra hole, Haas finished with a 2-under 69 and won a PGA Tour event for the fourth year in a row.
