New York Knicks sensation Jeremy Lin plays in Nike Hyperfuse Low kicks sponsored by Nike. He signed with the company in 2010 as an undrafted Harvard grad just picked up by the Golden State Warriors. Nike may even come out with a shoe named for Jeremy Lin.
Since Lin joined Knicks a few weeks ago, Linsanity has swept over this year's NBA and brought New York Knicks a seven-game winning streak and the latest victory over Atlanta Hawks at 8-2. He made the career-high 38 points in one game and posted double double in another game. He was added to the Rising Stars Challenge game as part of the NBA all-star game festivities.
"He continues to be a Nike athlete and wear the Hyperfuse Low," Nike spokesman Brian Strong says.
The company plans to make Nike Hyperfuse 2012 Linsanity PE in Knicks' blue and orange colors with "Lin" written on the back, according to the website Counterkicks.
Also, Nike reportedly extended its deal with Lin and fended off some Chinese competitors who are trying to rise with the excitement over the Harvard grad.
The first Taiwanese-descent player in NBA, Lin made a Nike-sponsored tour to two cities in Taiwan last year. He also taped training videos for Nike.
Securing an invitation to the Slam Dunk Contest in Orlando during the NBA's All-Star weekend on Feb. 24-26, Lin has filed to trademark the term "Linsanity" with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
