Arsenal Transfer News: Lukas Podolski Has No Plans of Leaving the Emirates in the Summer

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski said he has no plans on leaving the Emirates anytime soon, following reports linking him with a move to Atletico Madrid and Juventus.

Podolski has had a decent first season with Arsenal, showing flashes of brilliance, although he has at times admitted at being disappointed with the fact that Arsene Wenger has not played him in his preferred central striking position.

However, the German international insisted he is happy at Arsenal and does not envisage leaving the club anytime in the near future.

"I want to say two things," he said. "Firstly, I cannot help it that clubs are interested in me. And there are always people behind the scenes who want to float something in this business.

"Secondly, any interest makes me proud because it is recognition of my performance in London.

It is unlikely (that I will leave) because, at the club and in the town, I feel really comfortable.

"As a player you have peace and quiet. I appreciate that very much. Therefore, I can honestly say: I am not preparing for any change."

Meanwhile, while the Arsenal senior players plunge themselves into international action for the World Cup qualifiers; the youngsters have been taking all the plaudits.

The Arsenal under-19 side earned themselves a place in the semifinals of the NextGen Series with a 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow in their last-eight match at the Emirates Stadium Monday.

Talented forward Serge Gnabry scored the all-important goal in the 56th minute to book his side a semifinal matchup against London rivals Chelsea on Friday.

The young German played a nice one-two with the excellent Hector Bellerin before showing composure and class to slot it into the bottom corner after calmly skipping past a defender.

"It was a real moment of class, he manufactured the position well and was very positive in his movement -- it was a great finish," coach Terry Burton said.

"I am delighted for the players because I thought they put in an excellent performance, and also delighted for the club and supporters who turned out on a very cold night. I am sure they will have enjoyed the game.

"The most pleasing aspect was that it is a big stage to be playing at the Emirates -- most of the team were playing here for the first time -- and you're not sure how they will react, but I thought they responded really well.

"That is pleasing because this is where they want to be playing week in, week out and they had to play the game rather than the occasion, and I thought they did that really well."
