Wichita State and La Salle is the most unlikely of the Sweet 16 matchups, as the two teams face off for a chance to advance to the Elite Eight on Thursday night from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The Shockers received a nice boost after their upset win over number one seeded Gonzaga, as New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow met the team at the airport while his plane was refueling. Tebow made his way onto the Shockers' bus and gave the team a nice pep talk as they started to prepare for their matchup against La Salle.

Tebow told the team to hang on to the memories they will have throughout the next week, including the practices and time spent with teammates. He spoke about their future possible NBA careers and that this time during the NCAA tournament will be what they remember the most.

"The beautiful thing about the NCAA tournament is to see great teams that you don't see every night and to see different players that you might see some day at the next level," La Salle coach John Giannini said.

La Salle is coming off of a 76-74 upset win over Ole Miss, who themselves upset Wisconsin in the previous round. The team has won three straight games heading into the Sweet 16 and is one of the biggest surprises of the tournament. The Explorers would likely be the main Cinderella story, but that mantle has been taken up by Florida Gulf Coast University.

The Explorers went 24-9 this season, including 11-5 in the Atlantic 10 while ranking 60th in scoring with over 70 points per game. The team lacks size while ranking 292nd in rebounding, but the team was 70th in assists and 93rd in field goal percentage with nearly 50 percent shooting from the floor.

Wichita State enters the game fresh off of Tebow's pep talk and is 28-8 this season, including 12-6 in the MVC. The team ranked 116th in scoring with just under 70 points per game and ranked 27th in rebounding, something they have an advantage of over the Explorers. The team ranked 111th in assists and 115th in field goal percentage after shooting over 44 percent from the floor. The team has won four of its past five games and is amped after their 76-70 win over Gonzaga.
