The 2013 Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament added two more teams to the Elite Eight after the final scores saw Syracuse and Wichita St. beating their opponents on Thursday evening. With their victories, they now await the conclusion of the Sweet 16 as they are set to play on Saturday with a chance to advance to the Final Four. Check out the final results and find out what happened in both of these games.

Syracuse simply put away No. 1 Indiana on Thursday with a remarkable defensive effort that had the Hoosiers with only 22 points in the first half. It was their lowest total in the entire season. By the beginning of the second half, Louisville was up 34-22 and in route to advancing to the Elite Eight.

Syracuse broke the game open by going on a 16-6 run, taking a double-digit lead and going up by as many as 18 points with 3:37 left to play in the first half. Everybody was making contributions in this game, but Michael Carter-Williams was leading the run for the Orange. In the first half, he had 12 points and three steals to lead the charge. He finished the game with 24 points, four steals, one block and five rebounds.

Also adding to the Syracuse efforts were C.J. Fair, who cooled off after the first half, and Brandon Triche. Fair finished with 11 points and nine rebounds, while Triche added 14 points on 6-12 shooting.

The team's defense was also exciting as they combined for 10 blocks and 12 steals in the night. They will take on No. 3 Marquette.

Wichita State concluded Thursday's actions by defeating La Salle in a fairly clean game that didn't feature too many turnovers. Wichita St. put this game away early by going on a 17-3 run within the first seven minutes of the game. Carl Hall scored 10 of the team's first 17 points as he finished the game with 16 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.

The game was pretty much done after the first seven minutes. La Sall took its time to warm up from the field and it cost them. They wound up shooting about 36 percent from the floor and they were never able to get into rhythm as the Shockers were relentless on offense and defense. Derrell Wright and Tyrone Garland each had 16 points in the losing effort. While Wright shot 6-9 from the floor, Garland, who came off the bench, went only 5-15.

Malcolm Armstead of Wichita St. finished with the game-high 18 points, helping his Shockers advance to the Elite Eight. They will take on Ohio St.
