Danica Patrick had the week off in the NASCAR schedule before things head to Martinsville next week and she made the most of it, celebrating the Easter holiday at the White House as a guest reader at the 2013 Easter Egg Roll.
According to the Sporting News, Patrick will be one of the guest readers on Monday at the White House, along with Adrian Peterson, Sesame Street, Super Sprowtz and child actress Quvenzhané Wallis at the event and each of the guests have been revealed on the White House "Let's Move" twitter handle. The event is a tradition at the White House that has gone on for over 130 years and will see over 30,000 guests this year.
Patrick has had an up and down season results wise on the Sprint Cup, but based on her accomplishments, it has been nothing short of spectacular. She became the first woman to win the pole and lead laps for the Daytona 500 and she will also be the first woman to qualify for a race at Martinsville when the NASCAR schedule hits next week.
Patrick has also been in the news for her relationship with fellow driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr, which started after she divorced from her husband earlier in the year. The two made their relationship public and have been very forthcoming and open, including by posting pictures to social media and talking to the press. Both are rookies on the Sprint Cup this season, while Stenhouse won two Nationwide titles over the past two seasons.
Patrick had the best results of her career on the Nationwide circuit last year and is the first woman to ever race full time on the Sprint Cup level.
