The Minnesota Twins host the Detroit Tigers in their 2013 Season Opener at 4:10 p.m. ET. The Tigers will attempt to repeat as American League Champs as the Twins will simply try to spoil playoff runs as they aren't a favorite to compete in the 2013 season. Check out the live stream of this as a link will be provided, however, let's see what these teams bring to the field on Opening Day.
The 2013 Tigers plugged a hole they desperately needed in the playoffs last year, a right fielder. They went out and signed Torii Hunter, who was a free agent having spent his last few seasons with the Los Angeles. He's manning right field and joining a lineup filled with hitters.
Hunter joins the scary Tigers lineup featuring the Triple Crown winner and 2012 MVP, Miguel Cabrera, who bats in front of the always scary Prince Fielder. Catcher and DH, Victor Martinez is back and healthy. Austin Jackson will be at the top of the order getting things started for the Tigers.
For the Twins, it was an offseason where they released their young outfielders in Denard Span and Ben Revere. They still have Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau, but one of these guys is expected to be moved by the trade deadline this year.
Josh Willingham will supply the power as the Twins pitching will need as many runs as it can get. Vance Worley came from Philadelphia as Revere went to the Phillies. The Twins also took a chance on Mike Pelfrey as both of these guys will be in the starting rotation.
The Tigers are supposed to control the A.L. Central as they possess the best hitter and best pitcher in baseball. Justin Verlander will take the mound and face Worley who is the young ace for the Twins.
Don't miss the A.L. Central matchup as the Twins host the Tigers.
