Tyson Chandler has been playing with tape around his wrist since he sustained injury two weeks ago in a Knicks victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
He had a sprain in the wrist and a deep bone bruise in the hand which could take around six weeks to heal without surgery, according to Chandler.
The former Dallas Mavericks center will get his NBA championship ring prior to the game on Tuesday with Knicks against Mavericks.
"I don't know if there's anything specific other than just some stress reactions on the bone," Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said. "Just sore, nothing that won't heal, but something that will be sore for about a month."
He has been playing with medical tape around his wrist. He added protective black padding that helps absorb contact but harder to catch the ball.
"It's just those kind of situations where it's close and the ball comes quick," he said. But he will continue to wear the pad, saying, "It's even worse without it."
Chandler has been averaging 11.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game with a 68.9 percent field goal percentage.
