Atlanta Braves Starting Lineup Today vs. Philadelphia Phillies and Cliff Lee

Apr 04, 2013 04:26 PM EDT

The Atlanta Braves play the Philadelphia Phillies with a chance to sweep the opening series of the 2013 season. Check out who Fredi Gonzalez will entrust to get the offense rolling in the last game of the series.

The lineup is very similar to the one Braves' manager used in Game 1 against the lefty Cole Hamels. With another lefty on the hill, this time Cliff Lee, Gonzalez will pull out the same guys. Here's what it looks like. The top of the lineup will go unchanged because, come on, you can't move those guys with the way they're swinging the bat.

Atlanta Braves Batting Lineup
1. Andrelton Simmons SS
2. Jason Heyward RF
3. Justin Upton  LF
4. Freddie Freeman 1B
5. B.J. Upton CF
6. Dan Uggla 2B
7. Chris Johnson 3B
8. Gerald Lair 2
9. Kris Medlen P

B.J. Upton will have to start making more contact and getting hits because if I were the Phillies, I wouldn't pitch at Freeman after the start he is off two. He already has seven RBI and a home run in the first two games of the year. He has completely owned Phillies pitching in this one.

Justin Upton will continue to see great pitches because of Freeman. Upton has taken complete advantage of this smacking has a home run in back-to-back games.  The Braves fans have no complaints at all with their new right-fielder.

On the mound for the Phillies, Lee is a career 4-4 against Atlanta. He has a 3.08 ERA and a total of 70 strikeouts, which will definitely increase after his outing is over with tonight.

He will try to be careful against Freeman as the Braves' first baseman is hitting .316 in 19 at-bats against Lee. Also, Justin is hitting .375 in 8 at-bats while the young Simmons is 1-3 in his career against Lee. Uggla has a home run and three RBI for the most production against Lee in the Braves' lineup.

Game time is at 7:10 p.m. ET. Don't miss it as the Braves attempt to go for the sweep.
