The Philadelphia Phillies look to at least scrape up a win as they face the Atlanta Braves. Here's the live stream of the game as the Braves look to sweep the Phillies. Check out the starting lineups and what has occured in the last two games as first pitch is scheduled a little after 7:10 p.m. ET.
The Braves have won the first two games of this series after a 7-5 offensive surge in the Season Opener followed by another dominant offensive performance in the second game wining it 7-2.
The Braves introduced themselves to the Phillies in 2013 by hitting six homers through the first two games of the series. They had Freddie Freeman, Justin Upton and Dan Uggla go deep in the opener. Upton went deep on Wednesday as rookie Evan Gattis and Jason Heyward also followed his lead smacking round trippers in the game as well.
Along with great offense, the Braves received a solid performance from their starting pitcher, Paul Maholm on Wednesday. He pitched 5 2/3 of scoreless baseball and fooled Chase Utley badly in a memorable strike three. Utley double clutched and looked at a 58 MPH pitch cruise over the strikezone.
Maholm finished the night with six strikeouts and only one walk allowed in the game with six hits.
The Braves' bullpen has done a decent job giving up four earned runs in eight innings pitched so far through the first two games of the year. Tim Hudson had a shaky outing since he only went 4.1 innings giving up 3 ER. He couldn't even qualify for the win in the opener.
For the Phillies, Cole Hamels and Roy Halladay have been sub par. They gave up a combined five home runs to the Braves in the first two games. On the hill for the Phillies tonight, they'll have Cliff Lee. His job will be to keep the Phillies in it after the first inning of the game. The Braves have struck twice with 2-run homers in the bottom of the first. By the time the Phillies came up to hit in the top of the second, they were down 0-2.
The Braves will send their ace from last season, Kris Medlen, to the hill. All the Braves ask from their future ace is to go out there and give them a solid outing. Last season, his numbers were an anomaly as the Braves went on to win over 20 consecutive games when Medlen started a game before getting eliminated from the playoffs by the St. Louis Cardinals.
