Mike Rice is out at Rutgers as head coach, but that has not ended the saga that got him in that position, as a player from his former school has come out against the coach, saying he used similar tactics while at Robert Morris.
According to ESPN.com, a former player with the school spoke to Robert Morris officials and said that Rice also used a homophobic slur and threw basketballs at players during practice while he was with the team. Rice has taken heat and was fired by Rutgers after a video showed him physically and verbally abusing players by shoving them, kicking the, throwing balls at them and using gay slurs.
The scandal has continued to grow at Rutgers and now another player has accused Rice of doing the same things at his previous job. More news came out later with a former Rutgers staff member saying that Rice had "coaches versus players" brawls while with the school.
Robert Morris athletic director Craig Coleman said the school did an investigation and found no evidence of sights and also said that the one player who left the school while Rice was still there called him a gay slur and shoved another player at halftime of a game. This all comes as governor Chris Christie supported the school president of Rutgers in the scandal.
