Blake Griffin Believes The Clippers Have A Legitimate Shot At Winning The NBA Finals

Apr 10, 2013 12:39 PM EDT

The Los Angeles Clippers have won the most games in franchise history at 51-26 and have won their first Pacific Division title in franchise history.

With all their recent success and impressive record, it's hard to not consider the Clippers as team to make a legitimate title run.

Just ask All-Star Blake Griffin.

"To everybody else, I don't know," Griffin said. "To us, we feel like we're a team that's capable of contending for a championship.

"We're not afraid to see any team in the playoffs. That's where we are. We're not really worried about what everybody else is wondering [about] what we are or where they are going to put us as far as being able to contend with the top teams."

The Clippers are currently fourth in the Western Conference playoff picture and are still contending with the Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies to see who will be seeded third, fourth and fifth in the playoffs.

Griffin believes that the Clippers have the potential to accomplish overwhelming obstacles in the Western Conference, but the key to being successful has come from a sustained effort from he and his teammates.

"We're nothing without consistency," Griffin said. "But it's more about the effort given and it's more about the intensity that we have. ... If we're consistently mediocre, that's not a very good thing."
