The Atlanta Braves face the Miami Marlins as they go for the sweep on Wednesday evening. If you can't watch the game on television, check out the live stream available via MLB.TV as the Braves look to also continue their win streak. Game time is at 7:10 p.m. ET.
The Braves haven't score many runs in this series, in fact, they've only crossed the plate five teams this season. However, their pitching has taken advantage of the Marlins' struggling lineup as they can't get anybody to protect Giancarlo Stanton in their lineup. Stanton has yet to drive in a run, let alone hit a homer in 2013. It has to be frustrating.
The top of the Atlanta lineup continues pushing this team and they are playing without Freddie Freeman while Jason Heyward struggles and B.J. Upton's inconsistent ways continue. However, Brother Justin Upton continues raking despite having left Atlanta. Last night, he missed his seventh home run of the season, but it turned into a pivotal RBI double that eventually helped the Braves win 3-2. On Monday, the series opener, Upton went a perfect 4-4 only a triple shy of the cycle.
On the mound, it will be Mike Minor versus youngster Alex Sanabia who pitcherd a hell of a game agains the New York Mets in his first start of the season.
Minor has been truly unhittable since the 2012 All-Star game, posting one of the lower ERA's in baseball since that time. In his first start of 2013, Minor went 7.1 innings allowing five hits and one earned run with no walks and seven strikeouts. For some reason Minor always has great games against the Chicago Cubs, but the Braves hope he can continue pitching this well all season.
Sanabia shutdown the Mets through six innings in the Marlins' only win this entire season. He allowed six hits, three walks and struck out one Met.
Jason Heyward is back in the lineup with Atlanta as B.J. will sit out and Jordan Schafer will get the start.
