Lazio will look to turn around a 2-0 deficit when they host Turkish side Fenerbahce in the second leg quarterfinal tie of the Europa League.
The Italian side had their backs to the wall for much of the second half, after going down to ten men. Fenerbahce were initially struggling to find a way past the stubborn Lazio defence, before two late goals gave them the big advantage going into the second 90 minutes of the tie in Rome.
Lazio manager Vladimir Petkovic is convinced his side can pull off a positive result.
"Only after 180 minutes we will have a definitive verdict about which side is better," the 49-year-old said.
"I want us to impose our style of play and we want to score as soon as possible. This year we have done many good things in this competition and we don't want to give up.
"Fenerbahce have strong, quick forwards and many excellent players, but I'm more interested in the way my team play. It's clear that our chances of progress are less than 50 percent, but we will fight until the end."
Lazio midfielder Antonio Candreva added: "After the Istanbul match we were still sure we could overturn the defeat and we still believe this."
Fenerbahce will reach their first European semifinal if they hold their nerve against Lazio, but the Turkish side's manager Aykut Kocaman knows it will not be an easy task.
"Italian teams are traditionally very strong and Galatasaray showed last night (in the Champions League quarterfinals against Real Madrid) that even that if you've lost the first game, all is not lost."
Former Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt is also not taking things for granted as he looks to seal a dream final in Amsterdam.
"I have a lot of friends who are waiting to see me in Amsterdam, but the most important thing is to be focused on this game," the Dutchman said. "Every game until the end of the season will be a final for us."
