The Sharks hold an eight point lead between themselves and bottom club London Welsh, meaning a win over Gloucester will leave the Exiles in need of a miracle in their remaining three games.
Sharks boss Steve Diamond made minor changes to his lineup following the 33-33 draw against London Irish, placing Will Addison on the wing in replacement of Charlie Amesbury.
Sale are unbeaten in their last two Aviva Premiership Rugby contests, and have not managed three matches without defeat in the competition since September 2011.
The Sharks have won their last two matches at Salford City Stadium in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Gloucester welcomes back England's Ben Morgan, who injured an ankle while on Six Nations duty with England, for their trip to Salford City Stadium.
Gloucester Rugby have won three of their last four Premiership games but have not won away from home in the tournament since a visit to Northampton on 9th February.
Gloucester won 29-3 when the two clubs met at Kingsholm in round 9, and are going for a Premiership double over Sale for the first time since 2001/02.
