PGA Leaderboard Masters 2013: Tiger Woods Storms Towards Top At Augusta As Marc Leishman, Jim Furyk and Fred Couples Rising Into Round 3 Saturday

The second day of the Masters is in full swing and Tiger Woods is back in action after being one of the last groups to tee off for round two at Augusta National as Australian Marc Leishman still sits atop after playing through three holes on the PGA Leaderboard with Dustin Johnson pulling ahead slightly as he is through 13 holes.

Following that run, Johnson faltered and finished his day with a one under after holding the lead for a little while and later in the day Leishman pulled back ahead of Rickie Fowler and Jim Furyk. Tiger is making a run now and is now just one off the lead and five under.

Fred Couples and Rickie Fowler are tied at four stroked under and two strokes back, while Tiger Woods started the day at two under and four strokes off the lead with David Lynn, Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia, who is four over after tying atop the leaderboard on Thursday. Jim Furyk is three under through four holes, while Matt Kuchar is three under through 10 holes on the second day of action.

Woods had a solid first round on Thursday with a two under 70, a score he has been successful with in the past on the first day at Augusta, winning a green jacket three times after shooting that score. Woods left a few shots on the course, including a couple putts and he also had a tough bogey on 14 and a par on 15 that could have been a birdie.

Woods made his first birdie on the sixth hole and also added one on the 13th, while Rory McIlroy started his tournament with a par round one day after his girlfriend Carolina Wozniacki served as his caddy in the Par 3 contest. McIlroy looked much better than he did early in the year after missing the cut at Abu Dhabi and getting eliminated from match play as well as his walk off at the Honda Classic.

McIlroy's best finish at Augusta was 19th in 2011 and he first played in 2009 and now is looking for a top five finish after playing to second at the Texas Open last week. Woods has won three times already on Tour this year and Phil Mickelson has won once, while McIlroy has not been in the winner's circle yet.

Mickelson is even on Friday through 11 holes, while Tianlang Guan, the 14-year-old prodigy, is three up after 16 holes. The field is starting to take shape and with Rickie Fowler teeing off later in the afternoon, things are getting exciting at the Masters.
