The weather is pretty nasty in New York as the yankees get set to host the Baltimore Orioles in Yankee Stadium. This matchup will be the first between the two since they went five games in the ALDS. Check out the live stream available for those trying to watch this game online. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. ET.
The Yankees hope the idle time didn't cool their engines. They scored 25 runs in their last two games against the Cleveland Indians, but had their Wednesday and Thursday games rained out giving them an expected two days off in the schedule. The Yankees were off to a slow start, but now they a completely different team. They look as if they're playing free of any pressures and this is evident with their now 4-4 start. Nobody expected them to contend, yet they are loosely allowing them to play smarter baseball as their talents simply do most of the world.
For Baltimore, they are off to a 5-4. It's not disappointing or embarrassing for the Orioles just yet. They are fighting to prove that they are true contenders in the A.L. East. Many say they'd be surprised if the Orioles make it back to the playoffs, but they only way to get there is to play.
On the mound for Baltimore, Miguel Gonzalez, their 29-year-old righty. He is 1-0 in 2013 with a 2.84 ERA. So far in his young career, he's perfect against the New York Yankees posting a 2-0 record with a 2.33 ERA. In his first start of the year, Gonzalez went 6.1 innings allowing two earned runs to the Tampa Bay Rays.
On the mound for the Yankees, C.C. Sabathia, their ace and rubber armed workhorse. C.C. is 1-1 in 2013 with a 3.000 ERA. He had a rough start against the red Sox in his firs pitching start.
