Sam Young tweeted:
David Benner, one of the members of the Pacers' public relations team, was reportedly near the finish line just 90 minutes before the first explosion. He only learned of the news by viewing it on TV from the safety of his hotel room.
"There was a lot of people there, a lot of participants and their families, so the atmosphere was very good. You didn't even think of anything like this," Benner told 24 Hour News 8's Amanda Maynard. "It felt extremely safe. You're walking around. You can move freely. You just had to negotiate the streets and the barricades and things like that, but you felt very safe. There was a lot of police. To me it seemed very secure, and it just goes to show you that anything can happen. You view this as unthinkable and then you turn on the television set and then all of sudden it's very thinkable."
According to reports, dozens were injured from the explosions and there have been three recorded deaths.
