The Boston Marathon suspects were identified on Thursday after the FBI released their photos and video and one suspect was dead after a firefight with authorities while the other was still at large, leaving Boston on lockdown on Friday, including in Watertown, where the shootout occurred.
The names of the suspects, Tamerlan Tsarnaev and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, are hard to pronounce, as are the places where they are from in Makhachkala, capital of Dagestan, and Kyrgyzstan where Dzhokhar was born. Slate.com put together some information and audio about how to pronounce the names as the search was still going on.
The brothers were found by police after robbing a 711 and later killing and officer before stealing another car and leading officials into Watertown. The suspects engaged in a firefight with police and explosions may have occurred, with Tamerlan being killed and Dzhokhar fleeing the scene. Authorities have locked down Watertown as they search for Dzhokhar.
Social media has helped piece together information on the suspects, including what they were like and their actions leading up to the bombing attack.
