The Detroit Tigers and the Los Angeles meet up for the second game in three-game series. The Los Angeles Angeles are proving to be a much better home team than a road team, but meeting up with Tigers' pitcher Rick Porcello could prove difficult if he is able to get his game going again.
After an extremely worrisome slow start, the Angeles are working on winning their fourth straight game at home this season. During the home winning streak, they have put together 17 runs. Albert Pujols gets most of the credit for the home success, batting .407 in Los Angeles while batting .214 on the road. In the series opener against Detroit, he went 3 for 5 with two RBIs. Rookie sensation Mike Trout is finding his former in his sophomore season, going 9 for 20 with one home run and six RBI in his past five games. Garrett Richards will get the start for the Angels. In his first start, he gave up four runs in six innings. He has found success against the Tigers, throwing a 2.53 ERA in five games against Detroit.
Former Angel Torii Hunter is leading Detroit with a .418 batting average and is currently in the midst of a 12-game hit streak. In his first return to Los Angeles on Friday, Hunter went 2 for 4 with a double. Porcello is still looking to find his form this season. He will return to the starting rotation after making a recent appearance in the bullpen. He threw two perfect innings in the team's win against Oakland. His last start was April 10. He looked shaky at best, giving up four runs on eight hits in five innings. In his career against Los Angeles, he is 3-2 with a 5.80 ERA in seven career starts.
