Rafa Benitez will return to his former club when Chelsea travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool in their English Premier League game.
The Chelsea manager enjoyed much success during his six-year reign at Liverpool and is expected to receive a warm welcome from the fans, something which current Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes will be deserved.
"Rafael Benitez will deserve a great welcome," Rodgers said. "He won the European Cup here, which is a great achievement.
"There is no question he is a fantastic manager but I had confidence from the owners when I came in here that this process was going to take time. It wasn't going to be instant. And the owners have never wavered from that."
Chelsea, who won 3-0 at Fulham on Wednesday, have much to play for as they look to seal a top-four place. They are currently in third, one point ahead of Arsenal, with three points separating the Blues from Tottenham in fifth. Everton are sixth on 56 points, five behind Chelsea.
"The game against Fulham was very important," Benitez said. "We needed to be sure we were back in the top three and now every game will be important.
"It's Liverpool now. If we can get three points, we are in the top three, and hopefully it will be the same until the end. I don't see the fixtures of the other teams, just our next game.
"We have enough quality and experience in the squad. We have good momentum so we'll try to keep this."
Benitez said defenders Ashley Cole and Gary Cahill could return to the squad from injury, with the manager set to rotate his squad yet again.
"It is good news," Benitez added. "We have had Gary Cahill and Ashley Cole training today (Friday) so that was really positive.
"Also Marko Marin, who wasn't training. There are no problems apart from Oriol Romeu, the rest of the squad is fit. Maybe it is too early, but we will see after another training session."
Liverpool do not have any new injury concerns with only long-term absentees Fabio Borini, Joe Allen and Martin Kelly sidelined.
