The Los Angeles Lakers take on the San Antonio Spurs in the first orund of the 2013 NBA Playoffs, unfortunately, ABC doesn't have a live stream available to watch free online. So you can enjoy the action on television as ABC will be airing the competition. It will be a series many look forward to following since it can possibly help answer a few questions.
The Lakers are Kobe-less and the Spurs are a bit injured. By clinching the seventh seed with their win over the Houston Rockets, the Lakers gave themselves a better chance of advancing to the second round of the playoffs. However, the Spurs might have been playing possum during the regular season. They always rise to the occasion and play great baseball in April and May. The Spurs have been old for a while and many people count them off.
Speaking of old, the Lakers aren't getting any younger and the vetran Steve Nash looks like he will be making a comaeback against the Spurs. With no Kobe Bryant, the Lakers will need a leader on the floor. Steve Blake has surprised many by becoming the floor general and a consistent scorer. The Lakers will need Dwight Howard to step up and play great basketball. The Lakers are looking to make him the face of the franchise once Bryant is gone for good and this would be a great way to convince the people of L.A. that he is capable of being the main man in their team.
The Spurs on the other hand are looking to make a run back to the Western Conference Finals, similar to how they did in 2012. Tim Duncan doesn't seem to be getting older as he's still one of the elite big men of the league.
