The Atlanta Braves take on the Colorado Rockies at 3:10 p.m. ET. Now if you missed Braves baseball yesterday, there's a double-decker on the way today. Check out the live stream provided, but first, here's a breakdown of the first matchup as the Braves and Rockies battle for the best record in the majors.
The Braves are struggling, meanwhile, the Rockies are almost unbeatable at home. Both teams are in first place and are fresh off loses on Sunday. They had the day off yesterday as the Colorado weather would not allow for baseball to be played.
On Sunday, the Rockies were defeated by the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 while the Braves Pittsburgh Pirates take the third straight game of the series by the score of 4-2.
On the hill for the Braves will be lefty Mike Minor who has pitched outstanding baseball, but yet failed in his last start against the Kansas City Royal who beat the Braves 1-0. Minor is 2-1 with a 0.95 ERA. Minor has only allowed two earned runs in 19 innings of baseball pitched.
He will be opposed by former Rockies ace, Jeff Francis, who pitched well enough to earn a spot back in the starting rotation. So far in 2013, he's 1-1 with a 8.25 ERA. In 12 innings pitched, Francis has given up 11 runs.
In the second game, a struggling Julio Teheran takes the hill for Atlanta as the braves hope he can get his game together. So far in the season, though he hasn't pitched his best baseball, the Braves have been able to bail him out and are 3-0 whenever Teheran pitches. He's 0-0 with a 7.31 ERA. As for the Rockies, they will have Jon Garland on the hill and he's 2-0 with a 3.32 ERA in 2013.
