The NBA Playoffs saw more impressive final scores despite there not being any games close. The Golden State Warriors destroyed the Denver Nuggets 131-117, the Miami Heat put a 98-86 beating on the Milwaukee Bucks and the New York Knicks took a 2-0 lead on the Boston Celtics. Here are the results from these three games that took place on Tuesday.
The Warriors had trouble doing one thing on Tuesday in Game 2 of their matchup against the Nuggets, miss shots. The Warriors shot 65 percent. They made 51 of their 78 shots taken in this game. They say if you live by the shot, you die by the shot, well, the Warriors didn't live, the thrived off the jump shot. Stephen Curry was on absolute fire scoring 17 points in the first half.
The Nuggets probably thought his shooting was going to collapse in the second half, but no, he's the best shooter in the NBA according to many. Curry finished with 30 points on the night along with 13 assists and a sprained left ankle. With this performance, along with 26 points by Jarrett Jack and 24 from Harrison Barnes, the Warriors tied the series 1-1.
Barnes was absolutely amazing as he killed the paint and soared through the air and by Nugget defenders all night long. Whenever the Nuggets shrunk the lead, the Warriors answered back.
The Knicks scared their fans in the first half of their game against the Celtics as they went into the half trailing 42-48. However, once again, the Celtics couldn't drop a dime in a pond as the only scored a total of 23 points in the second half. Meanwhile, in the third quarter alone, the Knicks scored 32 points led by Carmelo Anthony who wrapped up the night with 36 points for his second consecutive 30-plus point game. J.R. Smith bettered his Game 1 performance with 19 points.
For the Celtics, it was another night full of struggles. They shot a combined 37 percent from the floor, something they can't do on the road. Paul Pierce led the way with 18 points, while Kevin Garnett finished with a double-double scoring 10 points and grabbing 11 boards, but the Celtics need more from elsewhere, which is what Rajon Rondo provided for them.
For the Heat, it was another victory, as expected. LeBron James was relatively off with just 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists. However, the bench contributed 34 points and Dwyane Wade led the way with 21 points for the Heat.
The Heat led by just three points at the half, but then they turned up the flames burning the Bucks with a 12-0 run at the start of the third quarter. And that was all she wrote for the Bucks in Game 2.
Game 3's are up next. For the Warriors, they look to take the momentum home and avoid having to return to Denver for a Game 6. The Heat travel to Milwaukee and the Knicks visit Boston for their Game 3's.
The Heat/Bucks play Thursday at 7 p.m. ET. The Nuggets/Warriors and Knicks/Celtics play on Friday at 10:30 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. ET respectively.
