Linebacker Quentin Groves, of the Cleveland Browns, was reportedly busted in a prostitution sting that took place over the weekend, according to Inquisitr.com.
According to the report Groves was busted during a three-day prostitution sting earlier this month in Ohio. Officers who were orchestrating the sting said that Grove responded to an ad and requested "full service" from an undercover officer. He was later arrested shortly after arriving at the hotel.
Here's a brief of the police report:
"[Groves] made arrangements for certain acts ... and requested 'full service' and stated he would bring condoms," the police report stated. A female officer from Beachwood posed as an escort in the sex-for-hire sting.
"He agreed to one hour of time for [$100] and was told that anal would be an additional [$20]," according to the report. He arrived at room 231 of the Homestead Guest Studios in Orange Village at about 10:28 p.m., the document stated. He knocked on the door and was immediately taken into custody without incident.
The officers found and seized an estimated $195.70 and a box of condoms from Groves possession as evidence.
Groves is now due to appear in court to address the situation on May 10.
"I want to apologize to the Browns organization, our fans and the city of Cleveland for putting myself in this situation. I realize I let a lot of people down, most importantly my family. I am committed to learning from this and moving forward," Groves said in a statement.
Groves, who recently signed a two-year $2.8 million contract with the Browns last month, joined the team for their first minicamp of the 2013 season just last week. The 28-year-old Mississippi native was arrested while in town for Browns training.
