The old adage says "like father, like son" and that is exactly what the San Francisco 49ers are hoping for, as the team is inviting the son of Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana too rookie minicamp following the NFL Draft after he worked out for scouts earlier in the month.
According to NFL.com, Montana received an invitation to the rookie minicamp that is coming following the NFL draft and the son of the 49ers great has the chance to turn some heads. The 23-year-old was at the team's pro day earlier in the month and the report says that the Sacramento Bee reports that he was invited on an invitational basis and that his agent said it was due to his performance during the event prior to the draft. The undrafted star played at four different schools, including Notre Dame, and eventually he started in division two and passed for nearly 2,500 yards and 20 touchdowns last season.

Cris Carter's son was given the chance to come to the Minnesota Vikings, making it two all-time greats that have sons in camp. Montana has another brother that is playing in college and he will try to add to the legend of the name his father gave him on the team where his father became a legend while winning a number of Super Bowls and MVPs. The 49ers made a number of interesting picks, including Eric Reid after trading up as well as injured running back Marcus Lattimore from South Carolina.
