On Wednesday night, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant talked about his upcoming game against the Oklahoma Thunder which will feature a reunion with Derek Fisher, who was traded, bought out, and signed by the Thunder this week.
"Look, we don't get five championships by being sympathetic towards each other and kissing each other's a** during the game," Bryant said. "I'm going to demolish him. He understands that. If he switches off on me in the post, there's going to be problems. I'm sure he'll put an elbow right in my back, and that's why we love each other."
Bryant and Fisher are close friends, winning multiple championships together with the Lakers. However, with age catching up to him and his numbers down this season, the Lakers decided to make the trade.
The Lakers play the Thunder next Thursday on a national televised game on TNT.
"It's going to be emotional, I'm sure for everybody and him and I in particular," Bryant said.
