The Golden State Warriors received a boost from David Lee on Thursday night and the team was able to defeat the Denver Nuggets to advance to the second round of the Western Conference playoffs in front of a raucous crowd.

The team got 22 points from Stephen Curry, who has been the MVP for the team, while Lee provided some solid play after returning from a hip injury suffered earlier in the series. The Nuggets were expected to walk away from the series easily after winning 57 games this season, but the Warriors had something to say about that. Andrew Bogut was excellent for the team with 14 points and 21 rebounds and Draymond Green added 16 points and 10 rebounds and now the team will move on for the second time over the past six seasons.

Bogut had 20 rebounds for the team for the first time since 1987 and now the Nuggets can only wonder what may have been. Andre Iguodala scored 24 points and Ty Lawson added 17, but the team could not stop the Warriors at the end and the team had issues from the field. Curry and the Warriors dominated the rebounding in the lane and despite having 21 turnovers they held on for the victory.

The series was very physical in Game 5 and things calmed down a bit in Game 6, but it was still intense on both sides. The Warriors had a lead at the end and almost fell back, but they held on to win after a few wild plays. The Nets held on in Chicago for a 95-92 win to send things to a Game 7 that will cancel and move a Rihanna concert, while the Knicks and Thunder will try to close out their series on Friday night. The Pacers and Hawks play as Indiana can close things out, as can the Grizzlies at home.
