NBA News And Rumors: Andrew Bynum Dances In Spain On Surgically Repaired Knee, If He Can Dance Does That Mean He Could Play?

The peculiar season of Philadelphia 76ers center Andrew Bynum continues on into the off season as the free agent to be has earned his name in the news for once again all the wrong reasons.

Bynum, who underwent surgery in both his left and right knees after the 2012-13 season, was spotted out on the dance floor during his travels to Spain. He has a history of doing stupid things and you can now add dancing to after surgery to one of them. Earlier this season, the seven-foot All-Star admitted that he re-injured his knees in a bowling accident, which caused everyone around the league to further question his maturity.

Bynum was acquired in a four team trade and he was expected to be the missing piece for the 76ers to help push them over the top in the Eastern Conference. His contract expires at the end of the season and since he won't play a single game this season, it will be interesting to see the market for the talented center.

But with his future up in the air, team president Rod Thorn confirmed that the franchise has established some type of insurance for Bynum's "bizarre" injury situation.

"There is a league-wide insurance that he's under that gives you some relief along those lines," Thorn said before the Sixers played the Miami Heat on Wednesday at the Wells Fargo Center. "It's the same league-wide program that every player's under. Unless you have a pre-existing condition - and he didn't - so he's on the same one as everybody else.

"It's a little bizarre, there's no doubt about it. He's had problems. He's worked very hard. As you can see when you see him, he's huge. His upper body, he works in the weight room, he works hard, he just hasn't been able to play. It's been very tough for him and obviously it's been very tough for us."

Bynum is set to become an unrestricted free agent in July, where he'll be eligible to land a long-term deal worth a nine-figure payday.
