Arsenal will look to keep up their chase for a top-four finish in the English Premier League when they travel to Queens Park Rangers Saturday.

The Gunners are currently fourth on 64 points from 35 games, one behind Chelsea and two ahead of Tottenham, both of whom have a game in hand.

Arsene Wenger will again have to do without the suspended Olivier Giroud, but has backed Lukas Podolski to fill the shoes of the Frenchman.

"Of course it's a good opportunity for him to show that he has a future in this position and that he can finish," Wenger told reporters. "But first I must decide to play him there.

"He was a little bit rusty (in the 1-1 draw against Manchester United) because he had not played a lot. I believe it is his best position maybe because on the flanks he needs to work so hard and he's more a finisher than anyone else in the team. Him and Theo (Walcott) are two finishers.

"I played him only against Sunderland in the first game in this position, only against Manchester United in this position, so it's not two ideal games. The first game of the season and against Man United, but I am tempted to give him another chance of course in this position.

"He wants to play there, but today all the players who play on the flanks want to play there. I'm convinced that through the middle he can have a great goalscoring record."

Arsenal face a QPR side who have nothing but pride to play for after already being relegated from the Premier League. The London side's gamble of bringing in a few high-cost recruits did not pay off, but Wenger understands why the club took such a big risk.

"It's always turbulent when you go down," Wenger said. "Have you known a club where it was not turbulent? It's massive.

"They had a decision to make in January where they had to take a gamble to stay in the Premier League but it was already very late.

"But you sit there and say 'do we accept to go down and don't take any gamble or do we have a go?' Nobody would forgive you if you don't have a go. They tried."
