Barcelona will have to forget about the 7-0 humiliation handed out by Bayern Munich in the Champions League semifinals when they return to La Liga action against Real Betis Sunday.
A ruthless Bayern side dismantled Barcelona over two legs, with the second leg at the Camp Nou on Wednesday finishing 3-0 to the German side.
Lionel Messi did not even get off the bench in that game and it remains to be seen whether the Argentine will be played in the game against Betis.
Barca have seen their lead at the top cut down to eight points after Real Madrid's win Saturday, and in order to avoid any last-minute worries, the Spanish giants will be keen to re-establish their authority in the Spanish league with a convincing win over Betis, who are currently just off the European places, in seventh on 49 points.
Barcelona defender Adriano insisted the side had gotten over the drubbing handed out by Bayern and were ready to turn their attentions towards sealing the La Liga title.
"We're feeling much better now," Adriano said. "The way the semifinal went was a big blow to all of us. But, we were more cheerful in training today (Friday) and have managed to turn our minds back to Betis, a game that's like a final for us.
"Everything seems black now, but the season isn't over. We still have to finish off the league. People have been saying that the league doesn't matter, but it's been a tough competition against some difficult opponents."
Adriano admitted Bayern had been the better side over the two legs and deserved to go through to the final at Wembley, where they will face Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund.
"We were looking forward to the chance to get to Wembley, but Bayern were physically better and had very clear ideas about what they had to do," the Brazilian added.
"We believed we could turn the game around because there were still 90 minutes to play. (But it) wasn't a disappointment. There are a lot of things we can take out of that match and we now know what mistakes we should avoid making in the future."
