The Oklahoma City Thunder are up 1-0 in the series against the Memphis Grizzlies after a wild and entertaining final minutes from the game on Sunday, as Kevin Durant hit two big shots to give the team a victory early in the second round.

The Thunder have been able to cope well with the absence of starting point guard Russell Westbrook, who is out for the lineup for the first time in his career after suffering a serious knee injury and he will not be back for the playoffs, thrusting Reggie Jackson into the starting lineup. Jackson has been solid so far and he passed a tough test on Sunday, as he had to hit two big free throws at the end of the game and he sank both.

Durant has been the story for the Thunder all season and throughout the playoffs and that was the case again on Sunday, as he hit the go-ahead shot with 11 seconds left in the game to put the team in the lead and Memphis on its heels. Durant is the go to scorer for the Thunder and the man who will always take a big shot, something the Grizzlies are without since sending away Rudy Gay in a trade during the season to the Raptors. Durant had 35 points, 15 rebounds and six assists to lead the Thunder and his shot at the end was icing on the cake.

The end of the game was exciting after the shot, as Jackson accidentally fouled Quincy Pondexter with just two seconds left, giving him three free throws with the team down three. But after missing the first and making the second, Memphis couldn't put the ball back in the rim and the win was sealed. The 93-91 victory was not a sure thing in the last minute of the game, as the Grizzlies had six point lead, but after some heads up play by Durant as well as a well times steal by Fisher, the Thunder were able to take the lead.

Pondexter is left wondering what happened, as he is a 72 percent shooter and missed the first shot, taking his team out of the moment with a chance to tie at the very last second. The Grizzlies had the chance to steal a game and take home advantage away in the series, but instead they will need to play their best in Game 2 to ensure a victory to tie things up. Durant has been the primary option since Westbrook went down and he is playing in isolation much more and he has been scoring in bunches, putting himself on par with the all-time greats. Durant finished the game for the Thunder by making five of the teams last six shots and his jumper at the end was the fourth time he has hit a game tying or go ahead shot over the last 24 seconds in his past five postseasons, according to ESPN.com. The Thunder will need another big performance from him on Tuesday night.
