Grizzlies vs. Thunder Game 2 Results: Memphis Wins by Final Score 99-93 Tying Series 1-1

May 08, 2013 01:53 AM EDT

The Memphis Grizzlies won Game 2, 99-93 as they tied the series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. They received a dominant performance from their guard Michael Conley as he turned it up late in game stripping home court advantage from the Thunder.

Conley scored 26 points in the game, grabbed 10 rebounds and finished an assist shy of the triple-double. He waited until the fourth quarter to turn it on as he scored 13 points on 5-6 shooting from the floor. At the start of the fourth quarter, the Thunder had a five-point lead. However, Conley was responsible for immediately cutting into that small lead. With 1:58 left in the game and the Grizzlies trailing by one, Conley hit a three to give the Grizzlies the lead as they eventually closed out the Thunder and Game 2.

Kevin Durant continued carrying the Thunder Game 2 scoring 36 points on 11-21 shooting. He also finished an assist short of the triple-double. It wasn't Kevin Martin nor Thabo Sefolosha who gave Durant a hand in Game 2, it was old man Derek Fisher who kept the Thunder in it as he dropped 19 points after going 4-5 from beyond the arc.

For the Thunder, they have to try scrapping out a victory in Memphis, where the Grizzlies have yet to lose a game. They have a three-day break as their next game is Saturday. In the meantime, they have to figure out how to work on Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph as these guys combined for 39 points, six offensive rebounds (13 in total), eight assists, three steals and two blocks. They are offensive and defensive vacuums keeping plays alive and providing troubles on the boards for the Thunder.

Are the Thunder now not the favorite to win the West? The Grizzlies have looked mighty powerful in the first two games of the series.
