The city of Toronto and its athletes have had an interesting week when it comes to objects hitting players in the head, as JA Happ was struck with a line drive and had to go to the hospital just days before Maple Leafs defenseman Mark Fraser was hit in the face with a puck.
According to Deadspin.com, Fraser was hit in the face with a puck in Game 4 against the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night. The hit occurred in the third period with 12 minutes left in the game and it hit him directly in the face and head area, knocking him down onto the ice from a shot by Milan Lucic. Fraser was on the ice for a time and was taken out and left a pool of blood on the ice. He was later seen leaving the arena with his head wrapped up and went in for more evaluations.
The hit came just days after JA Happ was hit in the head by a baseball against the Tampa Bay Rays and had to go to the hospital with a skull fracture behind his left ear and while doctors said he will heal, it was a scary situation. The ball hit him directly on the head and the sound could be heard all around the stadium afterwards and left him motionless on the ground when he couldn't block the ball with his glove.
