Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is known for his love of pranks and after the quarterback and a number of his teammates watched the Colorado Rockies play New York Yankees on Tuesday, he pulled a prank in the owners suite.
According to Yahoo Sports, Manning and his teammates, including tackle Orlando Franklin, were in the owner's suite and were eating tons of food, hot dogs and ice cream provided by the QB, when he decided to take his prank opportunity. Franklin was talking to a local media reporter when he was hit.
The rain was coming down hard at the game and in the video it shows the reporter talking to Franklin and just as he is speaking to her a hand with a pie comes out of nowhere and gets him in the face. It was receiver Eric Decker and the prank with the whipped cream was set up by Manning, the teams merry prankster. Franklin was a second round pick in 2011 from Miami and he has started every game since coming into the league.
Manning has pulled pranks on players before, including messing around with iPad alarms and phone settings while also pulling pranks like the pie one.
"I feel like Peyton and Decker, they got me real well last night," he said. "I'm definitely looking forward to revenge at this point ... I think a lot of guys are going to jump at that opportunity. So we've just got to plan something out real well for him and get him when it counts."
"I was just standing there and all of a sudden I saw Decker run by with a plate full of whipped cream," tight end Joel Dreessen recalled. "Obviously, I saw Orlando getting interviewed and then I saw what was going on. I kind of stood up on a chair to get a better view of things. I don't know whose idea it was but it worked out."
