Coach Bill Belichick Hates Tim Tebow, New England Patriots Not Option as Arena League or ESPN Still Interested in Quarterback

Well, it looks like Tim Tebow can cross one more team off his list of possible options. While it was widely considered that the New England Patriots might be the team that takes a chance on the quarterback, think again.

Mike Silver of Yahoo! Sports reports that Patriots head coach Bill Belichick "hates' Tebow as a player. So, no Tebowmania in New England? Unnamed sources are saying the Patriots would not welcome the media circus that comes with having Tebow. It is no secret that the quarterback's every move is highly publicized and the Patriots fear he could become a distraction to the team.

It was assumed the New England was Tebow's best chance. If the quarterback agreed to switch to a more hybrid position of an h-back or tight end, he could be of use to the team. He would allow Belichick to open up the playbook and get creative with the offense. It could push Tom Brady into more a no-huddle, up-tempo offense that is becoming the latest trend in the league. While the Patriots thought Tebow was a good guy to have on a team, they did not want to deal with the outside distractions that come with him.

Could it be that Tebow's fans are getting in the way of the quarterback signing with a new team? Silver's theory is that he is becoming a victim of his own popularity and simply deemed a distraction. While Tebow has proved to be a great crunch time player, winning numerous games with fourth quarter drives, he is not an every-down athlete.

So, the New England Patriots can now join the likes of the Jaguars, Seattle Seahawks and Cleveland Browns that are uninterested in the quarterback. The arena league could possibly be his only option at this point. The Tampa Bay Storm co-owner Derrick Brooks has spoken highly of the quarterback and has said that if Tebow were to consider the Arena League, he would take him on.

The other option is becoming a sports broadcaster. Both FOX and ESPN have been interested in bringing Tebow on for their college football coverage. Tebow comes with a large following of loyal fans which could bring more viewers to whatever network were to sign him.

Tebow does not have very many options at this point. His chances of playing in the NFL in 2014 are slim to none. His chances of still being on television are very high.
