The Knicks are coming of a Game 2 victory where they demolished the Pacers 105-79. This was after the Pacers stripped home court advantage from the Knicks, winning Game 1, 102-95.
The difference in Game 1 for the Pacers dominant second and third quarters for the Pacers. They still had a lot of turnovers, committing a total of 16 in Game 1. They also had more offensive rebounds in that game. Ironically, the difference in this series might be offensive rebounding because the Knicks finished with more in Game 2 when they cruised to victory.
The Knicks lack size in comparison to the Pacers. However, their small lineup is fairly productive when penetrating and if their perimeter shooting is on, as a group, they look like something out of Golden State. The Pacers on the other hand should take advantage of their length. Tyson Chandler looks far removed from the Tyson Chandler of the regular season and last year. With Roy Hibbert in the paint and guys like David West, Paul George and Tyler Hansbrough off the bench, the Pacers present a tough physical matchup for the Knicks.
Take it as good news or bad news for New York, but the Knicks will have Amar'e Stoudemire, the Stat Man, suiting up and possibly getting playing time. The Knicks like this because it brings a physical presence to their lineup, but will Stoudemire be healthy enough to make a solid contribution to the Knicks?
