Free agent wide receiver Josh Cribbs has been making his way around the league with his tour of new possible teams, with his next stop sending him to the motor city for workout for the Detroit Lions.
According to the Detroit Free Press, Lions coach Jim Schwartz wouldn't say much about the possibility of signing Cribbs or about the Lions' interest in the Pro Bowl return man after Sunday's rookie training camp.
"I think I'll just reserve any comments," Schwartz said. "We generally don't comment on guys that we bring in. I will acknowledge that he's scheduled to come in, but where that goes, how it develops and if that develops where he ends up on our team then I'll comment more on that."
Cribbs currently holds the NFL record with eight career kickoff returns for touchdowns and averaged 12 yards on a career-high-tying 38 punt returns last season.
He's also been linked to visiting the Oakland Raiders, New York Giants and most recently the Jets last week, but he is still recuperating from off-season knee surgery.
His services with the Lions will be greatly appreciated as they were one of the NFL's worst return teams last season, ranking 31st in the league in kick-return average and 22nd on punt returns.
