The Indiana Pacers put their 2-1 series lead on the line Tuesday evening as they host the New York Knicks. Watch the live stream online brought to you by TNT Overtime. The Knicks are a win away from tying the series or a loss away from falling back 1-3 in the series.
The Pacers dominated Game 3 as it progressed. The Knicks chances of winning decreased minute after minute as their offense had no response for the Pacers defensive toughness. The Knicks went cold, Carmelo Anthony wasn't the same Melo from Game 2 and the Knicks lost 92-81.
A stat that immediately jumps out, the Pacers shot 33 threes in Game 3. There seems to be something biblical about that last sentence. They hit 10 of 33 and won the battle from beyond the arc. Lance Stephenson's efforts from the free-point line clearly depicted how stubbornly the Pacers were shooting from three. After hoisting up to terrible air balls from three, Stephenson refused to stop shooting from beyond the arc and wound up going 2-5 from three. George Hill had five field goals in Game 3 and they were all from three as he led the way for the Pacers.
The Knicks on the other hand, well, they weren't themselves from beyond the arc. Long gone are the days where Steve Novak would roam around the perimeter and discount double-check opponents. The Knicks went 3-11 from three in their last game. They had no perimeter shot and no game in the interior. Also, Anthony was the only Knick in double-figures. Compare that to the Pacers' four guys who finished with double-digit score and the Knicks are lucky the score wasn't worse.
You can call it win or go home already for the Knicks. If they lose, the will be the third team down 1-3 in their second round series. So far, the Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder are just one game away from elimination following their Monday night loses.
