Kick returner Joshua Cribbs tour of teams has come to an end as reports suggest that the former Cleveland Browns standout punt returner has inked a deal with the Oakland Raiders.
Cribbs wrote on Twitter that "I am blessed to have the opportunity to prove myself yet again! Fresh start, New team, New chip on my shoulder!!!'' He added that he loves Cleveland and posted a photo of an animated player with his likeness in a No. 16 Raiders uniform on Instagram and signed "Team Cribbs.''
According to ESPN, Cribbs nearly signed with the Arizona Cardinals, but their concern about the stability of his knee forced them to back out and reconsider.
"The general manager, the Raiders organization, I have a good rapport with them," Cribbs told ESPN's Josina Anderson. "I feel like the staff is 100 percent behind me. They are excited about having me despite what some in the media would say. Some people have said some things about me not being healthy, but the Raiders know come the first game of the year I will be 100 percent and give them my all. I will be able to prove it to them and the rest of the league that I can get the job done at a high level."
Cribbs currently holds the NFL record with eight career kickoff returns for touchdowns and averaged 12 yards on a career-high-tying 38 punt returns last season.
"I am going to be for them until we play them," Cribbs said of the Browns. "They are a great fans. I love them just as much as they love me. I hope they win this year. I hope they get the job done and reach greater heights. I hope they root for me as a player and I will be rooting for them from afar."
He also has 107 receptions for 1,161 yards and seven touchdowns and has rushed for 753 yards and two TDs in his career. He also is 4-for-12 passing for 45 yards and one interception.
