NBA Playoffs 2013 Bracket Update as 2 Teams Make the Conference Finals

May 16, 2013 12:28 PM EDT

The Miami Heat and Memphis Grizzlies are on their one of two teams that will represent their conference in the NBA Finals. Following Wednesday's results, the Heat defeated the Chicago Bulls 94-91 while the Grizzlies took care of the 2012 Western Conference Champs, Oklahoma City Thunder 88-84. Both teams won their series and, as a result, advanced to the Conference Finals. Here's what the brackets look like because of these series outcomes.

Eastern Conference:
Miami Heat
vs.
New York Knicks 2-3 Indiana Pacers

Winner of Knicks and Pacers advances to the ECF to face the Heat. The Pacers are up in that series 3-1 and can advance as early as tonight, Thursday as Game 5 will be play from the Garden. The Heat have made three consecutive appearances in the ECF. The Pacers might want to delay the winning process since the Heat seem to get lazy right after an extended break. However, the Pacers want to put this series away as soon as possible.

Western Conference:
Memphis Grizzlies:
vs.
San Antonio Spurs 3-2 Golden State Warriors

Who would have expected the Grizzlies in the WCF? Now they have a chance to make it to the NBA Finals if they put away either the Spurs or the Warriors. The Grizzlies would present a problem for both of these teams as both only possess one true center and the Grizzlies have Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. The Spurs also have a chance to put this series away tonight, but Game 6 is on the road and there is a chance the Warriors might push this to a Game 7.

Second Round Brackets
Miami Heat
vs.
Chicago Bulls

New York Knicks
vs.
Indiana Pacers

Oklahoma City Thunder
vs.
Memphis Grizzlies

San Antonio Spurs
vs.  Golden State Warriors
