May 16, 2013 11:12 PM EDT

The Miami Heat are still awaiting an opponent as the New York Knicks defeated the Indiana Pacers keeping their season alive and pushing the series to Game 6. However, in the meantime, the Miami Heat wait for their opponent as the Eastern Conference Finals are set to begin on Wednesday.

The Heat are in their third consecutive Eastern Conference Final. Last season, year, they beat both the Knicks and the Pacers in the playoffs before getting to the NBA Finals semis. The Heat beat the Knicks in the first round 4-1 and then put away the Pacers after the winning the series 4-2. It was tough, but the Heat got the job done.

The Heat defeated the Boston Celtics in seven games in last year's ECF. LeBron James had to buckle down in that game and bring back his team. The game was so memorable that they made a commercial emphasizing a turning point in that Game 7 after he picked up a steal as the Heat put away the Celtics before claiming their second title franchise in franchise history.

The Knicks and Pacers will play their next game on Saturday from the Fieldhouse in Indiana where they will get a second chance to put this series away. The Knicks were a completely different team out on the field today and if they play like this once again, then expect this series to make its way back to New York for a Game 7.

From this series, the Heat's challenger will arise and give way to a Wednesday, Game 1 start from Miami.

The Heat are trying to make their way to their third consecutive NBA Finals and are attempting to win their second consecutive Larry O'Brien trophy.
