Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn have been dating for months and after the two appeared at the Met Gala last Monday, Woods went and won the Players Championship and now he heads into the summer looking for his first major in five years and his new girlfriend could be the key.
The two were spotted on his yacht this past week relaxing with his children and the golfer has been playing better than he has in years, winning four times before June for the first time in over 10 years and giving him a leg up as the tour schedule heads towards the US Open. Woods has won in prime fashion with the Farmers Insurance Invitational, the WGC Cadillac Championship as well as the Arnold Palmer Invitational before taking the Players Championship over the weekend.
Woods took back the number one ranking from Rory McIlroy and if he keeps playing this way it will be at least another year until he gives it up. Woods was excellent down the stretch after putting his ball into the water at the Players Championship and despite being called a liar, his actions with Sergio Garcia were backed up by one of the marshals, even if he did pull his club too early. The distraction didn't end up playing a factor, as Garcia ended up quadruple bogeying one of the final holes, leaving Woods to finish things off.
Woods landed pars on the final two holes and hit some fantastic shots during the week, including one on nine that was excellent. He also was good with his putter and used his tee shots very well, making most fairways. Woods had a scare on 14 when he put his ball into the water and ended up finishing with a double bogey, but he was able to stay ahead and he ended up taking the championship.
