The San Antonio Spurs dominated the Miami Heat and won over LeBron James and company for the NBA finals and now they have won the title and they were the dominant team and won the championship.

The San Antonio Spurs have been one of the best and most consistent teams in the NBA for over a decade and the team is looking like it did back when it won three championships in a span of five seasons after defeating the Golden State Warriors.

The beginning of the series was rough after the Spurs went through the LA Lakers in four games, but after settling in the Spurs never allowed the Warriors to dominate and Tim Duncan has been playing like he is a much younger man and it has been a huge boost for the team. Duncan led the team in scoring in the 94-82 win on Thursday with 19 and he was fantastic for most of the series, posting double-doubles with ease, while Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili were efficient and solid as always.

Ginobili was amazing in Game 1 after the Spurs came back from a 16 point deficit in the fourth quarter, as he hit the game winning shot in the second overtime period to erase an amazing performance of 44 points from Stephen Curry. While curry was mostly fantastic during the playoffs, the Spurs shut him down at times and playing with a hurt ankle didn't help him either. The Spurs got 11 assists from Ginobili in the Game 6 win and now the team will face the tough Grizzlies in the next round for a chance to make it back to the finals.

The team could be looking at a rematch with LeBron James, who they defeated in four games to win the championship years ago when he was in Cleveland and the play of Tony Parker and company could put them on top. The Grizzlies are a tough team, but the Spurs are tested and they also will have home court advantage. The Spurs held off a late rally in the finals game and 22 points from Curry wasn't enough.

In Game 6 the Spurs blew out the Warriors 109-91 after 25 points and seven rebounds from Harrison Barnes, while Parker added 25 points and 10 assists in that game. Duncan had 11 rebounds in that game and continued to show why he is one of the best players of all time. The Heat and Grizzlies were already through and the final series left to play out is the Knicks and Pacers after NY pulled out the win in Game 5 to get the series to 3-2 after a solid game from Carmelo Anthony, who scored 28 points, while Tyson Chandler had eight rebounds and Raymond Felton had four assists.
