Arsenal will target three points against Newcastle in final English Premier League game of the season, knowing a win will secure their spot in the top-four.

The Gunners currently lead Tottenham by one point, with Spurs set to play their final game of the season against Sunderland.

Arsenal could also possibly finish in third, with two points separating them from Chelsea, who host Everton.

"Yes (I am impressed with the way we have handled the pressure)," Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, whose side are on an unbeaten nine-match run, said. "It was 1-1 against Wigan and we were a bit edgy for part of the second half but after we finished in a very strong way.

"The resources are there mentally and physically. We have played for a long time under pressure now. Let's just finish the job.

"This team suffered for a very long time from a lack of confidence because you take the talisman away -- Robin van Persie -- and get the new players in. Then you lose the first big games and suddenly we are faced with scepticism around the team.

"You could see that. That was the problem and balancing the team took a while, to find a formula to have a good balance in the team. Since this has been back we have been very efficient.

"The Bayern Munich away game was very important, you could feel after that we could do it. I never felt this team lacked focus or desire to do well but we lacked confidence for a while."

Mikel Arteta is a major doubt for Arsenal after the midfielder picked up a calf injury against Wigan, with Jack Wilshere looking like the most likely player to replace him in midfield.

Olivier Giroud returns after serving a three-match suspension, with Wenger set to decide on whether to play him from the start or keep Lukas Podolski, who scored two goals in the last game, up front.

Newcastle will be without goalkeepers Rob Elliot and Tim Krul, with Steve Harper set to appear in his final game for the Magpies. Steven Taylor and Sylvain Marveaux, though, are expected to return.
