The Grizzlies are playing in their first Western Conference Finals ever. They had to get by the Los Angeles Clippers, they accomplished that in six game.s Then they faced the defending Western Conference champs and put them away after five games. They focus their energy in the paint and beat their opponents with their length, toughness and tenacity.
Memphis could possibly dominate the Spurs in the paint with Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. However the Spurs experience is pretty intimidating as they have made plenty of appearances in the Western Conference Finals. In fact, they were there last year against the Thunder before falling in three games. The Spurs have one of the better centers in the NBA, especially in the playoffs.
For the Spurs, their 2013 NBA Playoff run began with a sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers, a team that couldn't stay healthy at the end of the season. The Spurs won in four games easily. The next victims, which were hard to get by, were the Golden State Warriors and this series almost went seven games as it took the Spurs a while to figure out how to stop the Warriors young stars.
Now, the first to win four games advances to the 2013 NBA Finals where they will bee able to face either the Miami Heat or the Indiana Pacers. Duncan willbe seeking hims fifth NBA ring, while Gasol, Randolph and most of the Grizzlies' team will be searching for their first.
