The New York Knicks are no longer in the standings and there are only four teams alive in the 2013 NBA Playoffs. Looking at their records and success in the playoffs, the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs have had the better run in 2013, while the Indiana Pacers have fought the hardest to get to the Conference Finals. Here are the records and order of the playoff standings by winning percentage as there are only four teams remaining.
The Hot Heat (8-1)
The Heat have won 8 of 9 games played in the postseason. They have yet to begin their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Pacers. The only loss the Heat have suffered came against the Chicago Bulls in Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs' second round. The Heat swept the Milwaukee Bucks and that series almost feels like it never happened.
The Heat have a tough road ahead as they finished with a 1-2 record against the Pacers in the regular season. Of course, the regular season and postseason are nothing alike. The Heat will have the best individual player on the court, but the Pacers will have the bigger player in Roy Hibbert. Hibbert is a beast in the paint and if he plays like he did against the Knicks, then the Heat will have a hard time winning.
Sizzling Spurs (9-2)
They took Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Memphis Grizzlies. So far, in all three series, the Spurs have won Game 1, allowing them to set the tone and dictate the pace of the series. It is recommended for the Spurs to also win Game 2 since the Grizzlies play better at home and have gone undefeated at the FedEx Forum through the first two rounds of the playoffs.
Memphis Grizzlies (8-4)
The only reason they are above the Pacers is because they went 8-3 through the first two rounds of the playoffs. The Grizzlies took out the Los Angeles Clippers in six games, then followed that series up with a five-game series victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Grizzlies are now 0-1 and down a game against the Spurs. No worries, the Grizzlies have done an excellent job coming back in games, which they almost accomplished in Game 1 of the WCF matchup and they have trailed in the series as they came back from an 0-2 hole against the Clippers.
Physical Pacers (8-4)
You might say they don't like winning the easy way. So far in the postseason, the Pacers have had to go six games in both of their playoff series. First the Atlanta Hawks put up a fight and then the Knicks followed up with a great series, though the Pacers were able to close it out in Game 6. Indiana has an 8-4 record through the first two series in the playoffs. Can they put up a valiant effort against the Heat? Miami is the toughest team the Pacers will have to face in the playoffs and they have many weapons.
Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals will take place today, Tuesday, at 9 p.m. ET
Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals will take place Wednesday, at 8:30 p.m. ET.
