The San Jose Sharks returned home and were finally able to get a game on the Los Angeles Kings. The win meant they are still alive in the series, but it could equal out to nothing if they do not pull off another win at home on Tuesday. Both teams have had a day off to rest and fully prepare for a crucial Game 4. The Kings are not sitting complacent, knowing that in two more wins, they are in the conference finals.
After losing Game 3 on the road, the Kings have won just once in the last 10 road games since March. They came close to getting their second road win, but fell in overtime after getting hit with two penalties in the final minute of regulation that set up a power-play goal in overtime. The penalties have come with their share of drama, but the Kings are determined to bounce back for Game 4.
In this series, the home teams have won all three games so far. In the playoffs in general, both teams are undefeated at home. The Sharks carried home-ice momentum into the postseason after going 17-2-5 during the regular season. The team's power play has been one of the best in the league. While at home, they have scored on 28.4 percent of their power play opportunies.
The Los Angeles Kings are finding their road to the Stanley Cup finals is slightly less smooth than last season. In 2012, they cruised to a 3-1 lead in each series. Now they risk having the series tied before heading back to Los Angles again.
