Chelsea Transfer News: Cahill Keen To See Mourinho Return; Cech Confident Europa League Title Will Help Lure More Big-Name Players in the Summer

Gary Cahill has joined the list of Chelsea players looking forward to seeing Jose Mourinho take over at Stamford Bridge next season.

Mourinho is the overwhelming favorite to become the next manager at Chelsea, after Real Madrid announced his departure from the Spanish giants come the end of the season.

It is widely believed a deal has already been struck between Mourinho and owner Roman Abramovich with it just being a matter of time before the signing is made official.

Cahill, who has heard so many great things about the Portuguese from his teammates, believes Mourinho will have a great impact at the club, if, as expected, he takes over in the summer.

"I know that he is held in high esteem here, the lads speak highly of him, everyone speaks highly of him, so he must have something about him," the Chelsea defender told Sky Sports News.

"Any player would relish working under somebody like that and look forward to it.

"If it is that, we don't know, but I'm sure every player would like to work under somebody like that."

Chelsea are currently in U.S. getting ready to play a couple of end of season friendlies with Manchester City, and goalkeeper Petr Cech expressed his happiness at the Blues clinching the Europa League as well as third place in the English Premier League this season.

"I am really happy that we won the Europa League because this win gave us a ticket for the Super Cup in Prague which is even better because I will play at home," Cech said.

"After the huge disappointment of last year's Super Cup this is another important and positive thing, and the race for the third place was fantastic because it was up until the last minute.

"Now the structure of our preseason can be held the same way as it is prepared and this is a big help," he added on avoiding Champions League qualifiers.

"Everybody will have enough rest to start to season and be fresh, and we don't have to worry about this."

Cech is confident Chelsea can attract more big players to the club after another trophy-winning campaign.

"Last season everyone wanted Eden Hazard and because we won the Champions League he chose our club ahead of everybody else," he said.

"This year we won back-to-back European trophies and I believe that win in Amsterdam was again very important because players choosing between teams may rather choose Chelsea because they always win something."
