Christian Benteke has again come out and expressed his interest in joining Arsenal as Aston Villa look to hold onto the talented striker in this summer's transfer window.
Benteke, who is a self-confessed Arsenal fan, had a stellar season for Villa, scoring 19 goals in the English Premier League, and that form has led to him being linked with several big clubs.
The Belgian international, while away on international duty, cast doubts over his Villa future by admitting he would find it difficult to turn down an offer from Arsenal or another big club.
"If Aston Villa say I must stay, I won't necessarily accept that," he told reporters at a press conference ahead of a friendly against the United States. "I do not in any way want to feel I didn't get the most out of my career.
"Of course playing the World Cup in Rio is in my head. But I have no fear of falling out of the team. There is no point in me getting into a tug-of-war with Villa.
"If the chance comes up for me to join a club like Arsenal, I'm convinced we can reach a compromise where everyone comes out a winner."
Benteke's agent Kismet Eris played down the comments, though, saying his client was pretty happy at Villa, with the club looking to offer an improved contract as reward for his impressive first season.
"This always happens when he goes away with the national team," Eris told The Sun. "I'd prefer he didn't speak to journalists but the Belgian team insist he does a press conference.
"If he was unhappy at Villa we'd have seen that. But he's not."
Meanwhile, Arsenal are being linked with Juventus defender Mauricio Isla, after the Chilean international admitted he could leave the Italian champions next season.
"I do not know if I will stay in Turin -- it is an issue which is my agent is dealing with," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Star
Isla is a utility player who is most comfortable at right-back, but can also slot in in central midfield and on the right.
Arsenal might need a new right-back if Bacary Sagna leaves the club in the summer. Sagna, whose contract expires in 2014, is yet to agree on a new deal and has been linked with moves to Paris Saint Germain, Monaco and Zenit St. Petersburg.
